Decree laws on Fishing and Budget approved in Cuba

The Cuban Council of State approved two decree laws to grant pensions to commercial fishermen and the modification of the Budget Law for the year 2022, the Parliament reported on its website.

According to the source, the first of these norms, adopted the day before, protects, through the special social security regime, self-employed workers (private), members of non-agricultural cooperatives and micro, small and medium private enterprises.

For this purpose, it recognizes, on an exceptional basis, the years of service of fishermen who were engaged in private commercial fishing prior to the entry into force of Law 129, Fisheries Law of 2019.

The second Decree Law approved, leaves without effect the limits set to the Ministry of Finance and Prices with the objective of achieving the reallocation of planned budgetary resources, with greater flexibility based on their execution and support to levels of activity in the social and economic sectors.

The website of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP, Parliament) informed that both regulations will be timely published in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
