The need to improve the media web platforms in order to obtain a better position of the journalist works in the cyberspace was highlighted today at the opening of the Digital Journalism Meeting, taking place during Wednesday and Thursday in the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus, as part of the celebrations for the National Media Day.

The initial lecture was delivered by Humberto Concepción, president of the Cuban Journalists Association (UPEC, for its Spanish Acronym) in the territory, who dealed with the main challenges of the Web 2.0, scenario with a great number of applications yet to be better used.

How many of our pages offer the user the possibility of posting comments and participating  in the creation of contents? Do we take into account the users’ opinion for the editorial management? To what extent do we use multimedia in our platforms?

These were some of the most important questions raised during the  first exchanges among editors, specialists and all involved in the digital work of the media.

Rolando Lasval, representative of the Communications Ministry in Sancti Spiritus, gave a lecture in which he deepened on the need of getting the most out of the technologies available in the province.
