Cuban Tigers Unbeaten in World Baseball Challenge

Cuba remains undefeated after beating Canada 22-10 to register four victories and no defeats in the World Baseball Challenge that takes place in the Citizen Field, Prince George, Canada. The Cubans, represented by Ciego de Avila province team, scored 24 hits and two homeruns and had Ruben Valdes, Ricardo Bordon, Yoelvis Fiss and Raul Gonzalez

Cuba remains undefeated after beating Canada 22-10 to register four victories and no defeats in the World Baseball Challenge that takes place in the Citizen Field, Prince George, Canada.

The Cubans, represented by Ciego de Avila province team, scored 24 hits and two homeruns and had Ruben Valdes, Ricardo Bordon, Yoelvis Fiss and Raul Gonzalez as the leading players.

Gonzalez, third baseman, raised to 625 his offensive average which ratified him as leader in that category, followed by Fiss, with 529.

The third baseman leads also the categories of hits (10) and dobles (4) and goes second in run-batted in (7) and runs scored (6).

The victory against Canada went to de right pitcher Oamr Carrero, while the loser was Dustin Northcott.

With a perfect balance of 4 victories in equal number of presentations, Cuba will face today the Japanese team JX-Eneos of Yokohama.

The Caribbean team is escorted by Chinese Taipei (4-1), Japan (4-2), United States (1-4) and Canada (0-4), in that order.
