Scientific Conference Addresses Vital Topics for Gastroenterology in Sancti Spíritus

Presentations with high academic and research rigor on various digestive diseases, their diagnoses, and corresponding therapies characterize the sessions of the Gastroenterology Scientific Conference, held Monday and Tuesday at Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial General Hospital, convened in the context of the 48th anniversary of this specialty in Sancti Spíritus.

The event, which makes it possible to confirm the development achieved by the specialty in this central Cuban province, focuses on topics such as microbiota and nutrition, the biological bridge between food and human health, as well as the management of cholecystitis and pancreatitis, according to the event’s scientific program.

The thematic agenda also includes eosinophilic esophagitis in pediatric patients, gastritis, the clinical approach to gastric cancer, and topics related to teacher training and classroom climate, among other issues.

As president of the organizing committee of the scientific conference, Dr. Kendra Carrazana Román highlighted the significance of the event, marked by debate on each of the topics to be analyzed and, in particular, by case presentations.

Carrazana Román also referred to the participation of students as presenters at this event, sponsored by the University of Medical Sciences, the Provincial Council of Scientific Health Societies, and the Gastroenterology Chapter of Sancti Spíritus.
