From this Friday, Cuban Culture Day, until Tuesday, October 24, at the National Theater’s Avellaneda Hall, the program will include famous stagings, like the first act of Coppelia, the second act of Swan Lake and the third act of Don Quixote.
This is another of the many tributes that the BNC devotes to Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, founder of the dance group, in the middle of the Jubilee Season.
Also this weekend, on Sunday, October 22, the National Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to the BNC for the upcoming arrival of its seven and a half decades of relevant trajectory and worldwide recognition.
For the occasion, in the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater, the young conductor Idalgel Marquettti will conduct the orchestra, according to information from the organizers.
The concert will feature representative productions of the ballet repertoire of renowned classical composers.
The program includes Symphony No. 2, Op. 18, in Bb major by Johann Christian Bach; Suite from the ballet “Nutcracker”, Op. 71a by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsk; and Theme with variations from Suite No. 3, in G major, Op. 55 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsk.
