Cuban Journalists Dedicate Congress to Eternal Fidel Castro

With the participation of more than 200 delegates the 10th Congress of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) kicked off this morning in Havana

According to national media, in the two-day meeting underway in the Convention Palace, media professionals from all over the island will debate on essential issues such as the communication police and the press model that is necessary for the Cuban socialism.

The delegates will be working in five commissions to analyze the functioning of the organization, ethics and communication, media aggression against Cuba, innovation and new technology, and content management.

The program of the forum also includes the election of the new president of the National Committee, as well as the adoption of the statutes and the ethics code.

The congress will be dedicated to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to the 55th anniversary of UPEC (founded on July 15, 1963), and to Antonio Moltó, former president of the organization who died in August, 2017.
