In his visit to Sancti Spiritus, Cuba first vice-president said that together with the production increase and the improvement of the commercialization system, it is necessary to work with the morale of the people

The importance of linking agricultural production with proper marketing as a way to counteract the high prices currently prevailing in the sector was highlighted in Sancti Spiritus by Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee and first vice president the Councils of State and Ministers.

“It’s not enough to produce more”, said the leader in a working meeting held at the farm of Felix Alvarez, one of the most outstanding producers of tobacco, milk, meet and grains in this province and in the country.

Diaz-Canel praised the diversification and efficiency achieved by this farmer and said that together with the production increase and the improvement of the commercialization system, it is necessary to work with the morale of the people.

Accompanied by José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in this territory, and by Teresita Romero Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Assembly of the People’s Power, Díaz-Canel also visited Uruguay sugar mill, where he highlighted the results so far achieved in that industry, and met with the leadership of the sugar company in the territory.

The consistency with which integration processes have been driven at the José Martí Pérez University was also highlighted by the leader in a meeting with the management team of higher education center, where he called for linking the educational process with the provision of computing knowledge for the society.

Finally Diaz-Canel visited Escambray newspaper and exchanged with its staff on the generation of content, the participation in editorial decisions, and the challenges imposed by the current context.
