The presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and Cuba, Raul Castro, went to the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, to complete the final day of Xi Jinping’s visit to the island.

Both head of states were received at the Antonio Maceo International Airport by Lazaro Exposito, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in this city, and Reinaldo Garcia, president of local government.
Chinese leader said to Cuban authorities that it was a pleasure to come to such a beautiful land.
During their visit, both presidents visited major historical and social sites and paid tribute to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at the Saint Iphigenia Cemetery.
The Chinese president arrived in Havana on Monday, after a successful tour of Latin America in which he also visited countries like Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela.
During his stay in the Cuban capital, the Chinese president was officially welcomed by President Raul Castro and was awarded the José Martí Order, the highest distinction conferred by the Republic of Cuba.
Both leaders held official talks and also led the signing of 29 agreements in various sectors of the economy, which will boost the traditional ties of cooperation and solidarity between the two nations.
