The symbolic Victory Caravan recalling the east-to-west trip by Fidel Castro and the rebel army upon the 1959 revolutionary triumph arrives in Havana on Tuesday to conclude its nationwide trip as it happened 54 years ago.

The historic trip that started January 2, 1959 in eastern Santiago de Cuba was symbolically staged this time by Cuban youths and veterans of the liberation war.

The Caravan will wind up its trip at the former Columbia garrison, which was turned by the Revolution in a school complex called Ciudad Escolar Libertad.

Fifty four years ago, the guerrilla fighters, who overthrew the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship, shared the revolutionary victory with the people as they advanced to Havana on the Victory Caravan.
