Venezuela will host the extraordinary session of the Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), in order to analyze the situation in Syria on September 7th, officials said Monday.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the meeting initially scheduled for Thursday was postponed because of the ALBA foreign ministers’ agendas.
The Political Council is a consultative body of the Heads of State and Government, formed by foreign ministers, for analyzing strategic political issues and proposals for foreign policy issues to discuss within the organization.
The ALBA met for the last time on July 30 in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil, and on that occasion strongly condemned the actions of cyber espionage by the United States.
It also supported the complaint from Bolivia to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, for the serious violation of fundamental rights of President Evo Morales.
