The Ramon Leocadio Bonachea secondary education school, in Los Olivos neighbourhood, was the venue of the provincial ceremony to officially open the new academic year. This is one of the 65 educational institutions which were submitted to restoration in this territory this year.

When addressing the attendees to the meeting, the director of the educational sector in the province Edelberto Cancio Lorenzo, referred to the main tasks to be fulfilled during the new period.  According to him, actions will be taken in order to reduce the exodus of teachers and professors, to improve the scientific and methodological training of the school staff, and to increase relations between the school, the family, and the community.
