According to the People’s Provincial Court of Granma, the process against Spanish citizen Angel Francisco Carromero Barrios is ready for sentencing, and the final decision will be made public within the next few days.

As it was announced in recent days, in the morning of October 5, 2012, in the city of Bayamo, the public trial of cause number 455 of this year was carried out at the People’s Provincial Court of Granma against Spanish citizen Angel Francisco Carromero Barrios, for the crime of Homicide on the occasion of driving a vehicle on the public highway.

During the trial, abundant documentary evidence was examined as well as those provided by testimonies and experts, proposed by the prosecution and the defense. Defendant Carromero Barrios and his lawyer had all guarantees included in the Law of Criminal Procedure and stated all the elements they considered necessary.

The trial was attended by the general Consul of the Embassy of Spain to Havana and by Cuban and foreign journalists.

At the end of the trial, the court declared the process ready for sentencing and announced that it will make its decision public over the next few days.
