Companies bringing products to Cuba with the best quality and design will receive awards today at the 30th Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2012), attended by business people from more than 60 countries.
For the first time, those firms that have been present at all 30 editions of the fair, as well as those who have attended 25 editions, will also receive awards.
As usual, the best represented countries at the exhibition and the best exhibits, will receive awards, among other acknowledgments.
According to organizers, FIHAV 2012 is the largest edition of this kind of event in the last 10 years.
Today’s agenda includes the presentation of bioproducts for agriculture from the Cuban business group Labiofam, and that of the India Sareen Pharma PVT company.
The Day of the United Kingdom was celebrated at the Fair, in which the creation of a joint venture for the construction of a bioelectrical plant in Cuba to process sugarcane chaff, was announced.
As part of Thursday’s activities, a business seminar between Trinidad and Tobago, and Cuba, and the presentation of the Vietnamese company Nhat Trang were also held.
FIHAV 2012 shows the confidence and support of the foreign managerial sector in Cuba, and the importance of the Fair, which for three decades has helped bridge the gap caused by the economic blockade imposed by the United States, said organizers of the even.
According to Cuban authorities, the economic damage caused to the Cuban people by the blockade until December 2011, considering the depreciation of the dollar against the value of gold in the international market, stands at more than $1.066 trillion dollars.
