Sancti Spiritus’s Sur de El Jibaro Experimental Research Station is currently faced with the challEnge of growing grains other than rice. The institution is also involved in trying new lines of production and in the control of the grains’ molasses.

According to local sources, several hectares have been already planted with beans, corn and sorghum, which will be mainly aimed at producing seeds.
The institution is also involved in trying new lines of production and in the control of the grains’ molasses.
This center will gradually be inserted in the regional projects led by the Institute of Grain Investigations aimed at improving and producing seeds.
