Young residents of Sancti Spiritus gathered early this morning at the Martyrs’ Memorial from where they staged a marched to condemn terrorist actions against Cuba, and to demand the release of Antonio, Ramón, and Gerardo, who are still held in US prisons.

Demonstrators were mostly students who raised their voices to express their commitment with the Revolution and to condemn Imperialism. The marched was concluded at Ruben Martinez Villena Provincial Library, a highly symbolic site for locals since it was the place from where Fidel Castro talked to them for the first time ever.

Upon arrival in the library the students paid tribute to Rafael Trejo, first martyr of the Federation of University Students (FEU in Spanish), who was murdered during Gerardo Machado regime 84 years ago today.
