Among the issues to be analyzed at the meeting are the progress in the implementation of the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution, approved at the Sixth PCC Congress in April 2011 to update the Cuban economic model.

Other important issues being discussed at the plenary session are the policy of cadres, the progress of the process of popular consultation of the Family Code, which will soon be submitted to a referendum, and the follow-up to the strategy to face the current economic and social situation.

This is marked by the effects on Cuba of the world economic crisis aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic, and the reinforcement of the US blockade in recent years.

The plenary session was preceded in the last few weeks by the holding in all provinces the assessment assemblies of the political organization, which analyzed the advances and problems in each territory and the vanguard role of the party members and its direct link with the population.
