Famous Spanish Tenor Placido Domingo will give a single concert Saturday evening, November 26 at Havana’s Alicia Alonso Grand Theater, the Cuban Culture Ministry announced
Domingo, general director of the Washington National Opera and of the Los Angeles Opera, will interpret a repertoire dedicated to Cuba music including operas, operettas and other music genres.
The program includes works by Gonzalo Roig and Ernesto Lecuona, two 20th century outstanding Cuban musicians and composers.
Given the interest raised by the famous tenor, the organizers said that two big screens will be put up outside the theaters so that people can see the concert live.
The Cuban National Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by US Maestro Eugene Kohn, will accompany Placido Domingo, who will be joined at some point during the concert by Puerto Rican soprano Ana Maria Martinez.
