Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga announced that everything necessary has been done to welcome the participants to the 2nd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
Speaking at the Pabexpo Pavilion, venue of the regional event that will be held on January 28th and 29th, them minister said that the theme of the Summit is the fight against poverty, hunger and inequality.
The meeting of heads of state and government will be preceded by a national coordinators’ gathering on January 25th and 26th and by a ministerial forum on the 27th. First ladies are also attending, for whom there will be a collateral agenda of activities.
Along with the plenary hall, there are rooms for bilateral meetings and individual offices for the representatives of the delegations. Over 420 foreign journalists from 87 media outlets in 24 countries have applied for participation and a press room is available with all necessary services to inform the international community on the deliberations of the CELAC summit.
