More than 20 000 children will be administered the anti-polio vaccine in Sancti Spiritus, central Cuba, as part of a national campaign. This second phase will begin on Friday in all polyclinics within the territory and is scheduled to finish on April 28th.
To start on Friday and programmed to end on April 28th, second phase of the 50th National Anti-Polio Vaccination Campaign will reach Sancti Spiritus, as well as the rest of the Cuban island.
Local responsible for the Immunization Program Dr. Alina Villegas Hernandez explained to Escambray that children who received the drops in the first stage will also be administered this as well as 9 years-old children.
“As for the first stage, no reactions to the product have been reported, said the specialist, but parents must be aware of their children’s presenting high fever, vomits or diarrheas. They should avoid also that infants drink water 30 minutes before or after taking the drops as chlorine does not allow the product to work properly”.
