Fidel Castro Receives President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (Photo: Estudios Revolución)The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, met his Royal Highness Prince Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, president of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Cuban national newspaper, Granma,  published several photos of the meeting between Fidel Castro and the visitor, who arrived in Havana at midday on Sunday.

Upon his arrival, the ANOC president was welcomed by Jose Ramon Fernandez, president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, and by Dr. Antonio Becali Garrido, president of the Cuban National Institute of Sports Physical Education and Recreation (INDER).

Antonio Castro, global ambassador of the World Confederation of Baseball and Softball was also present in the reception of the visitor.

As part of the agenda, the visitor, who praised Cuban sports’ development, toured the Anti-doping Laboratory in Havana and learned about the scientific rigor of the institution. Since its foundation on February 13, 2001, the institution has maintained its accreditation.

The president of the aforementioned international agency also visited the Latinoamericano Stadium, where he met with leaders of several Cuban sports federations, the Olympic Committee and the INDER.
