Dr. Felix Baez, member of the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade, who contracted the Ebola virus during his mission in Sierra Leone, West Africa, returned to Cuba this Saturday evening.

Baez arrived in Havana’s José Marti International Airport  where he was welcomed by Cuban Public Health Minister Roberto Morales.

The physician returned to his homeland after satisfactorily improving his condition during his stay at the Geneva University Hospital.

At this medical institution he received high level treatment and its specialists ratified that trials carried out confirmed the disappearance of the virus in his body fluids, so he was discharged from hospital.
