Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel presides over his country’s delegation that attended Pope Francis’s enthronement ceremony at the Vatican. Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel presides over his country’s delegation that attended Pope Francis’s enthronement ceremony at the Vatican.

Diaz-Canel is accompanied by Council of State secretary Homero Acosta, First Deputy Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina, and, Cuba’s ambassador to the Vatican State Eduardo Delgado.

The enthronement of Pope Francis, named 266th in the history of the Catholic Church and the first from Latin America (Argentina), took place in Saint Peter’s Square.
