This is a task of great impact because instead of two rooms, with which the surgical dynamics was limited, now they are preparing four, according to Dr. Pavel Socarrás Hernández, director of the institution, who argued that the improvement will be possible thanks to an investment plan that began to be executed last January, precisely in the year in which the health care unit celebrates the 55th anniversary of its foundation.

“Today we only perform emergency surgeries at the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital”.

He exemplified that before COVID-19, the group performed 170 surgeries per month, which they intend to rescue depending on the insurance of supplies, since they have established professionals and hope to have better working conditions to attend more than 400 cases pending operations, and to prepare for greater endeavors: they dream of performing endoscopic or minimal access surgeries there.

Rolando Martínez Arrechea, head of the Investment Department of the Provincial Health Directorate in Sancti Spiritus, informed that they have the commitment to finish by the National Rebellion Day, in addition to the operating rooms of the Pediatric Hospital, a room of the Hospital of Sancti Spiritus.
