Stop the bombs and listen to the people

Colloquium Patria and Informática 2024 focus updates on communication and the software industry

Those who have strategically designed, with total impunity, the genocide of the Palestinian people “will be condemned by history and will also have a guilty conscience, because these acts are intolerable and are an attack against human dignity”.

This was stated by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, while visiting, together with the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, the stand of the pan-Arab network Al Mayadeen, which will be awarded today, on the last day of the 3rd Colloquium Patria , the Dignity Award.

The Head of State ratified the Island’s invariable position of denouncing, as soon as possible, what is happening in the Gaza Strip, and assured that he will take care of the future of Palestine through constant attention to the young university students studying in this land of José Martí.

After traveling to the city destroyed by Zionist hands, through virtual reality, he exclaimed that “we must stop the bombs and listen to the people”. To act with such criminality and disrespect for life and for the self-determination of the peoples -he pointed out- only has a place in the philosophy and thinking of a corrupt and imperialist society.

Coinciding in the same fairgrounds, they also participated in the inauguration of the International Fair Informática 2024, a space where Cuban and foreign producers of the software industry and managers of the communications infrastructure exhibit innovative projects, technologies, resources, products and services, in 49 stands.

During the tour, the authorities learned about the potential and progress of the technology sector in the country.

In this regard, the Vice Minister of Communications, Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, informed about the Cuba Stand, which recreates the panorama of ICTs in the country, with 28 solutions previously selected for their quality, comprehensiveness and economic and social impact.

In general, the Fair includes entities that manage science, technology and innovation, which constitute a new way to connect our universities with the economy.
