According to data from the National Statistics Office, at the end of 2022, this Caribbean nation had 11,089,511 inhabitants, of which 2.3 million correspond to the population under 18 years of age, representing 21 percent of the total.
The figures show that, despite the shortages and vulnerabilities, accentuated by the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island for more than six decades, the government shows a strong political will to ensure the proper development and welfare of children.
