In a message broadcasted on CGTN channel, Cuba’s Ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco, recalled that both nations are “good friends, good brothers, and good companions,” a term that President Xi Jinping used to refer to bilateral relations.
“We are confident that in this New Year, our cooperation, trust, and mutual support will once again serve as an example of unbreakable brotherhood among socialist countries,” Blanco added.
The Cuban diplomat praised Cuba’s pride in being the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, founded by Mao Zedong. “I wish you all good health, happiness, much success, and prosperity in the New Year,” he said on behalf of the Cuban Government, Communist Party, and people.
China is preparing to celebrate the Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, a significant event in Chinese culture, which begins on February 10.
