Cuba reveals old terrorist wolf in sheep´s clothing

According to the Razones de Cuba website, long-time terrorist Santiago Alvarez Fernandez-Magriña is now presenting himself as a supposedly peaceful opponent of Cuba’s socialist system in an attempt to hide his extensive and bloody record against innocent compatriots.

The alleged “Benefactor”, as he is being called by those close to him, piles up a remarkable record of orchestrating sea landings and infiltrations of terrorist commandos in Cuba; and in the 1960s he was deeply involved in violent actions conducted along the southern coast of the area between Cienfuegos and Trinidad.

The denunciation, signed by Cuban writer and journalist Raúl Antonio Capote, stress that Fernández-Magriñá dedicated a great part of his life to make terrorism acts against Cuba.

For such a purpose he made use of the so-called Legal Rescue Foundation and other organizations and kept close links with the paramilitary formations Alpha 66 and Comandos L, based in South Florida, under the supervision of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Capote recalled this dangerous individual participated in the failed attempt against Cuban leader Fidel Castro in the auditorium of the University of Panama in 2000; and then facilitated the illegal entry into the United States of one of the confessed perpetrators of that act: Luis Posada Carriles.

Indissolubly linked to anti-Cuban terrorism, Posada Carriles is deemed one of the worst murderers in the history of Cuba, he was in life a close friend and partner in bloody activities of Fernandez-Magriña, now disguised as a “little angel”.

The publication also recalls that the U.S. authorities seized him in 2005 the largest illegal cache of weapons of war ever known in Florida, a crime for which he was imprisoned for only three years.

Back then, the bellicose promoter and executor of terror acts handed over to the police 30 automatic machine guns, a rocket launcher, several grenades, 200 pounds of dynamite, 14 pounds of C-4 explosive, four thousand feet of cable for detonations, among other items.

In his bulky file it is also recorded that on October 12, 1971, he participated in a terror attack on the Cuban town of Boca de Samá. The pirate assault claimed two lives and left four wounded, among them two girls of 15 and 13 years of age, respectively.

In 2001, Fernández-Magriñá alongside Castro Matos orchestrated and directed an armed infiltration along the northern coast of Villa Clara province, an action in which Máximo Pradera, Ihosvanny Suriz and Santiago Padrón were arrested for intending to sabotage tourist sites, among them the Tropicana cabaret.

In that context, the alleged pacifist oppositionist was among those who financed the purchase of weapons for that action, and violated Cuban jurisdictional waters when he brought, in his speedboat, the three terrorists -mentioned above-, busted in April 2001.

With such a record, no one should believe in the supposed good intentions of a criminal wolf in sheep´ clothing who is presently walking around the U.S. city of Miami pretending to “collaborate” with those who support the “dissidents” in Cuba.

The “good old man” is a criminal who has blood on his hands. “There are names that cannot hide, behind the masks of influential “benefactors”, the murderous character that moves them”.
