The vice-director of the National Seismological Research Center Enrique Arango told the Cuban News Agency about constant tremors to the southeast of Haiti—some 1, 115 tremor—though no hints about any abnormal movement in the Cuban zone.

Given predicting criteria about any moment when a quake could affect Cuban territory, the expert said that the seismic performance of the tectonic faults near the country is being closely followed.

The seismologic service detected 791 tremors in the first three months of 2022 in Cuban areas, though only three of them were perceived by the population, including a 5.2 tremor on March 23, said the expert and went on to note that the annual average of perceptible tremors here reaches 16.

In 2021, seismological stations registered 20 tremors particularly in the eastern section of the country, with reports in the central and western portions of the island.
