It is essential to increase its production and services, and the volume of financial liquidity in order to also contribute to its self-sustainability, suggested Gladys Lopez Bejerano, president of the Agency of Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies (AENTA by its Spanish acronym) and representative to the National Assembly of People’s Power.

Lopez Bejerano spoke at the annual meeting of the CPHR, held at the Tryb Habana Libre Hotel, where she advocated an increase in the number of categorization processes for researchers, technologists and teachers, as well as for Masters and PhDs, and the strengthening of their early warning systems.

They mentioned that the list of new services included kilovoltmeter calibration and in the case of pesticide products (Fiproemul and cockroach control bait), and improvements were made to Abatex’s production facilities and liquid pesticides, as well as to quality control capabilities.

Once the 2021 plan of contributions of 3.5 million pesos was modified, it was doubled to 7.3 million pesos, while the allocation of fuel was estimated to be low, and there were difficulties with the water and electricity supply, due to the direct impact of the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the U.S. government.

During the year they signed an agreement with the Higher Institute of Technologies and Applied Sciences of the University of Havana, maintained their foreign markets, obtained new clients with financing from abroad and won two bids with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
