The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, arrived in Venezuela Wednesday on an official visit
He was welcomed at the Simon Bolivar International Airport in Maiquetia, Vargas State, by Venezuela’s Vice President Tareck El Aissami and the Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza.
During his first visit abroad after taking over as Cuba’s President last April 19, 2018, Diaz-Canel will fulfill a tight working agenda that includes a meeting with his Venezuelan peer, Nicolas Maduro, and laying a wreath at the National Pantheon where the remains of Liberator Simon Bolivar rest.
Upon arrival, in brief remarks at the airport the Cuban President greeted his Venezuelan peer, Nicolas Maduro, for his recent victory at the general elections, and conveyed publicly greetings by General Raul Castro, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, to the Venezuelan Government and the civic union by the Armed Forces and the people.
According to an official press handout, Diaz-Canel who is accompanied by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez will also visit the Mountain Barracks where the late leader of the Bolivarian Revolution Commander Hugo Chavez is buried, and a will tour an integral health center in Caracas.
