Cuban President Raul Castro welcomed this Monday at the Revolution Palace, the Secretary General of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and former Colombian President Ernesto Samper
According to an official press release, both leaders exchange opinions about different topical regional and international issues.
During the meeting, Raul Castro thanked the public statements by the UNASUR secretary general against the US blockade of Cuba and his positive stance regarding the process to re-establish diplomatic relations between the island and the United States.
In the meeting, Samper was accompanied by the head of Communications of the UNASUR General Secretary’s Office, Ana Maria Serrano, while Interim Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina participated on the Cuban side.
