Cuba President Awards Patriarch Kirill with Jose Marti Order

Cuban president Raul Castro decorated his Holiness Kirill, patriarch of Moscow and all Russia with the Order Jose Marti, the highest award given by the Cuban Council of State. The ceremony took place at the Palace of the Revolution, in this capital.

Created in 1972, the Order Jose Marti is awarded to Cuban and foreign citizens, as well as to heads of State or Government for their work in favor of peace and humanity, for their extraordinary contribution to education, culture, sciences and sports, and for relevant merits in creation.
