First Secretary of the Workers Party of Korea, Kim Jong Un, welcomed Cuban First Vice President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, who is on an official visit to that nation on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of relations between both countries.

An official note released here today states that during the meeting, Diaz-Canel and the First President of the National Defense Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Supreme Commander of his Popular Army discussed the excellent state of bilateral relations, characterized by close cooperation relations and mutual support in many spheres.

They also discussed the current situation in Asia and Latin America, the text notes.

Kim Jong Un conveyed an affectionate greeting for the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Army General, Raul Castro.

The note states that after the meeting, the president invited the Cuban delegation to enjoy a concert in honor of the visitors.

The Cuban first vice president was accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister, Rogelio Sierra Diaz, and Cuba’s ambassador to the DPRK, German Hermin Ferras, concludes the note.
