Russia Defense Minister Welcomed by Cuba President

Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, met on Friday afternoon with Russia Defense Minister, Army General Serguei Kuzhuguetovich Shoigu.

During the meeting, Raul and the visiting defense minister spoke about the historic ties uniting the two countries and ratified the willingness to continue strengthening cooperation bonds.

Also taking part in the meeting were several members of the delegation accompanying Army General Serguei Kuzhuguetovich Shoigu. Also present for Cuba were Politburo members and Army Corps Generals Leopoldo Cintra Frías and Álvaro López Miera, minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and first deputy minister and chief of staff, respectively, as well as other chiefs of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
