The governor of the State of Aragua, Tareck El Aissami, highlighted the attitude of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters towards the struggle of Venezuela against US aggressions.
On having given the welcome to Gerardo Hernández, René González, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando González, in the fourth day of their visit to Venezuela, Aissami pointed out that its demurrage ratifies the brotherhood between both nations and a sample of the victory of the solidarity.
El Aissami gave the Cuban Five the keys of the City of La Victoria, cradle of the Bolivarian Revolution in solemn ceremony that precedes between other activities the trip on historical and emblematic places of the coast of Aragua, between them the Monument of the Youth, in the municipality of Ribas.
The agenda also includes a trip to Ingenio Bolivar in the city of San Mateo, a place that reflects facts of the history of Simón Bolívar.
Also, they will visit the Aeronautical Museum of the city of Maracay, capital of the state of Aragua and the Military Technical School of this metropoli.
The antiterrorist fighters visited the state of Miranda (east of Caracas), where they received the Supreme Francisco de Miranda Order, the highest decoration that the local parliament grants.
Before the ceremony, the Cuban Five knew about several social projects developed in the region thanks to the joint work of Cuban collaborators and Venezuelan activists.
The Cuban Five were caught and arrested in the US in 1998 and they received hard condemnations for avoiding aggressions against Cuba planned from the state of Florida.
The group will remain in this country until Saturday. Their trip is the first one they carry out since they were liberated.
