A new edition of the International Underwater Photography Event began working sessions today at Cayo Largo del Sur, in southwestern Cuba.

The event attracts divers from around the world every year, among them Cuba’s undersea environment to take unforgettable snapshots.

Scheduled for May 14-18, the competition categories are Fish, Environment, Environment with diver, Macro, and Macro with subject, with digital photography in particular.

During the first day of this event, technical information about sea conditions, environment, and other important details for competitors, is part of the agenda.

The starting point of the contest is the Marlin Marina at Cayo Largo, and competitors will have the opportunity to try their luck until the weekend.

The underwater photography event is organized by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR) and the Marlin Marina group, responsible for marine activities in this country.
