The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, held a fraternal meeting with the president of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff.
The Brazilian president is leading her country’s delegation at the 2nd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), and is carrying out an official visit to Cuba.
During a pleasant dialogue held Monday afternoon, Rousseff talked about her particular motivation in attending the opening of the first section of the Mariel Special Development Zone, stressing its importance for Cuba, and as a concrete example of the integration process taking place between Latin American and Caribbean peoples.
The meeting, in which other issues of international interests were discussed, was an expression of affection and admiration between Fidel Castro and Dilma Rousseff.
Yesterday evening, Fidel Castro met with Jamaica’s Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, who is attending the 2nd CELAC Summit and carrying out an official visit to Cuba.
In this meeting, both sides highlighted the progress of their collaboration in important spheres of health, education, sports, and other areas.
