The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, held a fraternal meeting in this capital with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, who concludes today an official visit to this country.
According to a report from Granma newspaper, the exchange of impressions was characterized by an atmosphere of friendship, expressive historic ties between our Parties, governments, and peoples.
Fidel and Xi Jinping talked on several issues of international interest and, particularly, the enormous dangers and challenges humanity is experiencing, the reports states.
Both leaders also referred to the significance of the Declaration adopted on July 15 by the BRICS country members, as well as the transcendence of the recent visit by the Chinese president to several South American countries, whose fruitful and unforgettable tour will conclude today at the Heroic City of Santiago de Cuba, Granma states.
The daily says that during a pleasant dialogue, after touring pasture and forage areas, they also discussed about the extensive and increasing cooperation between Cuba and China, and the results of experiments in plant crop for human and animal food.
Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, two members of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party, and four other youth of the delegation from the Asian nation, attended the fraternal meeting along with the Chinese statesman.
