About 200 Cuban physicians will travel today towards several regions of Ecuador, to work in vulnerable and difficult access zones, to contribute to the governmental objective to ensure health services for the entire population.
According to a report posted at El Ciudadano website, the mission of those physicians, specialists in Family Medicine and Primary Care, will be focused in two purposes: patient care and technical assistance for training.
In addition to caring citizens, physicians will also help strengthening health equipment in different territories.
Ecuadorian Deputy Minister of Health Governance David Acurio welcomed the physicians, and explained them that one of the mainstay of the Citizen Revolution has been the universal health care.
The 200 new specialists will join to other hundred physicians of the island already working in this South American nation, as part of a agreement between Quito and Havana.
