Cuban President Raul Castro led the Cuban people’s tribute to late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez Frias in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.

Raul laid a flower before an image of the Bolivarian Commander placed at the base of the monument to Antonio Maceo, in Santiago’s Revolution Square.

Senior government officials and a massive representation of people from Santiago joined the president since the early hours of Thursday to pay their respect and express their appreciation for the Venezuelan iconic leader and his people.
