Everything is ready in the central Cuban territory of Sancti Spiritus for the commemoration of the International Workers’s Day next May 1st. Locals will march along the main avenues and streets up to the Serafin Sanchez Valdivia Revolution Square.

“Preserving and improving Socialism” is the motto to be raised by local residents, who will this way reaffirm their demand for the immediate liberation of the Cuban Five and their support to the Party and the Revolution.  The parade will be led here by a youth bloc to honor the 50th anniversary of the Youth Communist League.

According to sources from the Federation of Cuban Workers (CTC) offices in Sancti Spiritus, the parade will be led by a youth bloc to honor the 50th anniversary of the Youth Communist League. Sugar workers will be next. They were the island’s first to accomplish the sugar production plan and have been acknowledged in other important tasks.

Once the parade is over, several recreational activities have been scheduled to also commemorate the 73th  anniversary of the foundation of the CTC.
