Cuban President received Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin, who is on an official visit to Cuba. The distinguished visitor said that her visit shows her country’s willingness to strengthen and improve bilateral relations.
During the talks, held on Wednesday afternoon, Raul and Maria Angela exchanged views on the positive bilateral relations between their countries and on regional and international issues.
In a previous meeting with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, the Colombian government official said that her country will support Cuba´s demand at the United Nation for the lifting of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade of the island.
She also described as positive the election of Cuba as part of the troika presiding over the recently created Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). The new bloc, made up of 33 countries was born with good prospects and show that “we can advance for the wellbeing of our nations, in a context of open and transparent dialog.”
The Colombian foreign minister said that her visit shows her country´s willingness to strengthen and improve bilateral relations, as well as its aspirations to boost joint projects.
Meanwhile, Bruno Rodriguez said that the presence in Cuba of the Colombian diplomat will pave the way to advance future projects in the areas of economy, trade, tourism, scientific exchange, culture and sports. (Taken from RHC).
