After concluded the stage of candidates nomination, the more than 2000 members of the Constituencies Electoral Commissions (CEC) and the approximately 6000 members of the polling tables established in the 1202 stations in the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus, receive intensive preparation and training until October 12.

According to Margarita Pasaron, secretary of the Provincial Electoral Commission, the emphasis lies on the deep knowledge of the governing documents and the legislated process regarding the vote to be held on October 21.

Electoral Law in Cuba establishes that, in each district  polling stations are created as needed, taking into account the number of voters living in the demarcation, so that those who will exercise the voting may count on the necessary fluency for the full exercise of democracy, as it is in those places where the voting and the scrutiny take place, as soon as the suffrage ends, and the results of the process are publicly disclosed.

Conversely, the polling tables are in charge of the compliance with the regulations issued by the Electoral Commissions, and of the discipline during the election process, as well as of examining the claims made and demanding the presence of national symbols, ballot boxes, ballots and the documents and materials required in the stations. They take care of counting the votes cast.

Since last Sunday, the biographies and photos of the candidates for delegates to the municipal assemblies recently nominated across the province, are being exhibited in public places, a step that will help the people to know in detail the history and merits of those who deserved that honor in each constituency.

Also exposed in central sites of different demarcations are the voter lists so that each Cuban citizen with the right to vote can verify the information ,and review, suggest and make adjustments and amendments via the electoral authorities in each constituency.

Election officials reported that on October 14 the dynamic test is scheduled to check the assurance logistics and the preparation of the thousands of residents in Sancti Spiritus involved in the electoral process.
