Ricardo Alarcon, president of the National Assembly of the People’s Power (Parliament) met on Thursday with his Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Corzo, at the end of his three-day official visit.At Havana’s Hotel Nacional, where the meeting was held, the president of the Congress of the South American nation told the press that the Colombian parliament is interested in strengthening bonds between the two legislative organs, and expressed his satisfaction at his visit to Havana.
Corzo traveled accompanied by Alexander Lopez, second vice-president of the Colombian Senate, and during their stay they met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment and the Tourism Ministry, and visited places of historic interest, among other activities.
Also present at the friendly farewell meeting were, for Cuba, Jaime Crombet, vice-president of the National Assembly, and Yenielis Regueiferos, president of the Cuba-Colombia Parliamentary Group and secretary of the governmental organ’s Commission of International Relations. (Taken from ACN)
