Cuban Revolution leader, Fidel Castro, received visiting Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on Tuesday evening.

The Vietnamese head of state arrived here on an official visit heading a high-level delegation, Granma newspaper reported.

Fidel and Tran agreed that the visit will further deepen the historic bonds of friendship between Cuba and Vietnam. They also shared views on the economic and social development amidst the current dangers posed on humanity, particularly by climate change,
wars in different regions of the world, the low price of oil, along with the challenge to increase food production at the world level.

The Vietnamese president conveyed greetings from Vietnam’s Communist Party, government and people and also expressed his appreciation for the Cuban solidarity from the times of the battle against the US invasion of the Asian country. Tran also conveyed
congratulations for the results of the Seventh Congress of the Cuban
Communist Party.
