Yesterday’s was Roosters’ ace third shutout, and he currently holds a 11-0 record, with a 0, 88 ERA and 69 strikeouts to own, up to this moment,  the triple crown of pitching in the present championship.

With the triumph of their main hurler, who completed his 3rd game of the tournament, Sancti Spiritus Roosters kept a close eye on the first positioned Cienfuegos Elephants, who swept Industriales Lions as visitors.

Roosters’ key men in the encounter were “Holguin-imported” shortstop Yunior Paumier, who opened the score in the 4th with a 2 RBI homer, and Yulieski Gourriel who went 4 for 5, including a triple, 1 RBI, 2 R and two stolen bases.

Yovani Aragon players must return now to their headquarters where they will receive current champions of the Cuban baseball Ciego de Avila Tigers during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

In other results, Ciego de Avila beat Pinar del Rio 9×2, Matanzas defeated Isla de La Juventud 2×1 and Cienfuegos completed the swept to Industriales  Blue Lions 7×6.
