Cycling Cup for the Five Underway in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba

A Cycling Cup is underway until January 27 in the central province of Sancti Spiritus for the freedom of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters held in the U.S. and against terrorism. The initiative, organized by the Cuban Cycling Federation (FCC) and the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), includes the participation of cyclists from different Cuban provinces.

The initiative, organized by the Cuban Cycling Federation (FCC) and the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), includes the participation of cyclists from different Cuban provinces.

The tour will get to all municipalities and will enroll about 60 athletes including members of the national teams of road, track and mountain bike.

The race will have five stages identified with the names of the five Cuban anti-terrorists: Antonio, Fernando, Gerardo, Ramon and Rene, FCC spokesperson Pedro Gonzalez told ACN news agency.

The Prizes will consist of trophies with the names of the Cuban five engraved according to the each of the stages named after the heroes, said Provincial cycling commissioner in Sancti Spiritus, Mario Pujol.
