Cuban Ministry of Domestic Trade has for the first time earmarked over 30 000 000 pesos budget to purchase tools and raw material from overseas, in order to push self-employment in the island.

This action fulfills the need to explore the wholesale distribution business, in view of the new non-state production and service modalities referred to in the Party guidelines.

According to Adalys López Valero, director of Sancti Spiritus’s  Productos Universales Trade and Service Company, local markets have been already supplied with significant amounts of tools. Certain raw materials will be soon available as well.

The territory is expected to be provided with new products by the second semester of this year, depending on what the country will be able to purchase abroad.

On the other hand, highly demanded products can be found at the moment in Sancti Spiritus’s  Productos Universales Trade and Service Company stores, such as tyres, different kinds of paints, and wood, among others.
