Sancti Spiritus Yosbany Veitia was the second man of the Cuban boxing squad to fight in the 2012 London Olympics. The athlete beat Australian Billy Ward 26×4 and confirmed his favoritism before the combat.

Veitia, Cuban representative in the 49kg division,  continued the victorious path started on Monday by 52 kg Robeisy Ramirez, by defeating a man with few relevant results worldwide.

The Cuban athlete avoided surprises and dominated the fight in the three rounds (7×1, 6×1, 13×2) to enter the stage of 16 where a tough combat is expecting him on Saturday before defending champion and double world king, Chinese Zou Shiming.

Yosbany Veitia, aged 20,  is a left-handed boxer from the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus.
