Sancti Spiritus Veitia Wins First Fight in London 2012 Olympics

Sancti Spiritus Yosbany Veitia was the second man of the Cuban boxing squad to fight in the 2012 London Olympics. Veitia, Cuban representative in the 49kg division,  continued the victorious path started on Monday by 52 kg Robeisy Ramirez, by defeating a man with few relevant results worldwide.

The Cuban athlete avoided surprises and dominated the fight in the three rounds (7×1, 6×1, 13×2) to enter the stage of 16 where a tough combat is expecting him on Saturday before defending champion and double world king, Chinese Zou Shiming.

Yosbany Veitia, aged 20,  is a left-handed boxer from the Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus.
