In his congratulatory message, Raul Castro reiterated Cuba’s willingness to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both Caribbean countries. The gesture was greatly appreciated by the Haitian official, according to local media.

Lamothe, who retains his post as foreign minister, was inaugurated Thursday after both houses of Parliament approved his 21-member cabinet and political program.
